So, I'm having a bad day! I went on a rant on another thread and then thought... we need a ranting thread!
Here it is! Rant about any subject you like! It doesn't have to be H50, it can be anything you want. (Keep it relatively clean people, please!)
I'm having a 'nothing is going right' kinda day and nothing helps resolve those kinds of feelings more than getting them off your chest, so rather than sobbing down the phone to my poor Mum, I've vented on Gaerwn's thread in Cheer Leading. (I really didn't mean to Gaerwn, so sorry about that!)
It does however mean that I won't repeat myself here!
So, flail your arms; run your hands back over your hair and rant away - Danny style!

It's no problem, Jazzie! Lord knows I invited it by talking about my own bad day first, lol. Hey, you need to rant, you do it. I totally understand where you're coming from. Kinda sounds like where I'm coming from.

Here's my rant: Why can't I get into the chat feature when I'm at home? It opens just fine at work - where I really shouldn't be chatting away online - but when I'm at home, it starts to open and then closes me out of the site entirely. I checked and Java is enabled on this computer so why won't it work? Someone that knows more about computers than I do, please help!! What else could be wrong? I want to talk to people, but I can't. :-(

Man, I wish I could help you with that. I don't even know where to start.

Thanks Gaerwn! rewob - I had similar issues with opening chat at one point. What browser do you use? I use Google Chrome and I was asked to update Java by my laptop, so I did. What a mug! 'Cos then when I tried to open the chat using Google Chrome it wouldn't work; if I tried using Internet Explorer it did! I ended up removing Java; checking I had the latest version of Chrome; reinstalling Java and rebooting the laptop. Finally it started working. Which of those things helped I have no idea!

I use Internet Explorer (both at home and work so no difference in those computers). I've tried signing out of this site and signing back in and I've restarted my computer to see if my computer did any updates that would help, but that didn't help either. When I click on the chat it tells me that it had to close the webpage and would try to open it again, but after two times it just tells me it won't work. Sigh.
So I'm not ignoring anyone or anything, but I just can't stop in to chat. I keep trying in the hopes that it will magically start working again!

Rewob - I'm not that great with computer issues, I have to confess.
What version of IE are you using? Are you able to take a screen shot of the error you're getting and perhaps send it to me in a PM? I do have a friend that is relatively knowledgeable about computers so he may be able to give me some advice. If not I can try to log a ticket with the Live Chat company support team but I need to understand the issue better.
If I can get a screen shot I can forward it on to them maybe and it will help them see what the problem may be.

It goes pretty fast so I'm not sure about the screen shot but I'll see what I can do. Or, at least, I can write down what it says exactly. It was working fine until the upgrade to the site so who knows... I'll see if I can get more information or figure it out myself (hah, I made myself laugh with that!)

Rewob - anything that makes it easy to explain to someone that's more technical than me would be good! My mate is used to me asking him questions so he knows that I'm limited on how much information I can provide!
