I wasn't sure where to put this so if it needs to be moved that's fine. My Uncle sent this to my mom and I thought it was pretty cool. It doesn't really have anything to do with Five-O but it does involve the Navy and the Marines. It's a Blue Angels video. I couldn't imagine doing this. I guess I could have put this in the Plot Bunnies thread if anyone wants to incorporate it into a story? But I really just posted it because it's cool to watch. Anywhoo enough rambling. www.youtube.com/watch_popup?v=W6tB8Lf7YoU

It's fine to put it here. The general area can be for anything you like.
The UK has the Red Arrows as the equivalent and I love watching them fly. During the summer when they're doing various air shows they're quite often based at an RAF base near me so I get to see them fly out on practice runs, if I'm quick enough to get to the window once I hear the 'boom'! lol
Thanks for sharing.

Gaerwn - Me too! We flew to Florida this past September and I was trying so hard to not freak out. And that was only a 2 1/2 hour flight lol. My husbands boss said if his numbers at work continue to do well then he will pay for tickets for my husband and I to go to Rome (or wherever we want). Which is very cool but if I'm freaking out over a 2 hour flight what am I gonna do for an overseas flight?! *facepalm* Jazzie - That sounds cool.

cargumentluv - Oh, jeez. I've never done an overseas flight, but I've flown literally coast to coast here on the North American continent. (Portland, OR to Boston, MA once - and several flights from Oregon and/or Washington to Missouri, Oklahoma, and Tennessee.) I have a system that I absolutely HAVE to follow in order to make it through the flights without freaking out and woe to me if that system gets knocked aside by late departures or unfriendly staff. It usually ends up with me calling a friend who is well-versed in my flying phobias and crying at whatever connection I need to make. Sometimes I don't know HOW I've managed it, seeing as how every flight I've ever done? I've been alone.
Jazzie - oh, WOW. How cool! I haven't been able to see anything like that in person, so... wow!

It is cool, but sometimes they make you jump out of your skin because of the sonic boom when they're about to accelerate into part of their display!
I don't have an issue with flying (at least I didn't) but I'm sure several of you have heard about the traumatic flight I experienced to Perth, Australia in January last year! I got a migraine during both outbound and inbound flights. Going out wasn't so bad, as I flew out with my parents and my brother picked us up at the airport. Coming home... it was awful as I flew home on my own. I made it off the plane in time to find a toilet and throw up! Then I had to get a minibus to the car park to collect my car and drive down our busiest motorway to get home! There are two main ways to get to Perth from here. Via Dubai or via Singapore. The first time I ever flew it was via Dubai and the flight is more evenly split. Last time we flew via Singapore. Coming home the Singapore to London leg was 14 hours. It was just too long.
Of course, I've actually just realised, that the first time I flew I was having back problems so I was taking diazepam (valium to those in the USA) as a muscle relaxant along with an anti-inflammatory and painkiller. Perhaps that was the difference. Huh...
If you're really that nervous about flying it wouldn't hurt to talk to your doctor about possibly being prescribed a mild sedative or muscle relaxant. Though it's also good to be aware that in certain countries even prescription drugs can be illegal and you can be arrested, even with a letter of authorisation from your doctor! (I have to get a letter from my GP to enable me to take my drugs into Australia, he told me if I was going to Greece and they found diazepam on me, even with a letter, I'd be arrested! )
Now wasn't THAT a long winded story!
