Hey all! I'm not sure this is the right place to put this, but it seems the most likely spot.  On another forum I frequent for a different fandom, there are monthly and twice-monthly themed challenges. The twice-monthly challenges are ficlets 100-500 words based on a theme; the monthly one is any length over 500, also based on a theme or having to use specific words, etc. Would anyone here be interesting in having these sort of challenges? I would be happy to head it up and keep it going; I'm not asking anyone to step in and work their fingers to the bone on this one. I know we don't have many people, but maybe this could bring a few people in, if we invite people to come join our challenges. Let me know what you think. |

I would be interested though my writing time is limited so I can't promise that I could take part frequently.

There would be no pressure at all or anything, promise. Just answer the challenge when/if you can/want. I thought it might be a fun way to get some creative juices flowing, or get those little snippets out when they otherwise might not be written. |

I'm not against this idea at all, but I think while there are so few members here it may not work as well as on other sites. I know that the NFA (NCIS Forum) have regular challenges but they have a lot more members.
The only way to know for sure would be to try it perhaps once the forum has been going a little longer so that we can encourage others over from the fanfiction forum.
I know that I have my own plot bunnies and I'm not really in a position to take on anything extra right now as I don't like working on more than one or two stories at any given time. I'm also completely incapable of writing anything short! 
Once there are more members and more interest though I think it's a great idea.

I like the idea and I'd say we give it a try - but I also have not very much spare time to write AND I'm an incredibly slow writer. But maybe some challenges will urge me to work faster |

Oh, definitely when we have more members. Besides, I need time to gather up some themes and such. I'm glad everyone seems to think it's a good idea. And hey! If anyone has any ideas for themes or what-have-you, send me a PM - or even respond in the thread. Might as well get things organized before launching anything, right? In all seriousness, though, I do appreciate the support and whatever ideas anyone might have. |
